Brunnhildar Harpoon — Northrend's best kept secret

What at first sight appears to be nothing else than a white quality polearm, is in fact a white quality polearm that can be transmogrified. Woah! I know, right. I stumbled upon it two days ago, when I was scanning the Horde auction house for low priced transmog pieces to complete my hunter set (the Ornate mail is crazily expensive on Alliance side).

The top rated comment on its wowhead page said that it can be used for transmogrification but I wasn't fully convinced so today I finished up the quest line to get the required reputation and bought it from Warsmith Sigfinna for 19g and a bit. I've already seen it on the auction house for 250g, but it must be one of those items that stay there for a long time since very little people know about it. However, it doesn't bind when you transmog to it, so you can just put it on the auction house after you're done or mail it to your hunter like I did. Have I mentioned that it also hides enchants?

Warsmith Sigfinna also sells a bow - with a wooden dragon head design which I quite like - and a two-handed axe (with the same blue glow) that can both be used for transmogrification.

I'm hoping it will be a match for the replica Feralheart gear since that has a lot of vivid blue, but for now, here it is with my resto set.

The Wavemender's Mantle — Mail

Click to zoom (and you'll get rid of that blur!)
I really love these shoulders, and when I say really, I mean really.
I'm not fond of the robes that go with them, though - hence the leggings - and by now I've been staring at this picture for so long it looks good no matter what.

Makes me wonder if I should level my draenei or dwarf shaman - both races look good in it to me, I just can't decide which one looks better!

- Shoulders: The Wavemender's Mantle — Essence of Anger, Black Temple
- Chest: Shroud of Rime — Scourgelord Tyrannus, Pit of Saron
- Hands: Mitts of Burning Hail — Marwyn, Halls of Reflection
- Waist: Belt of the Ardent Marksman — bought in Dalaran with JP
- Legs: Black Dragonskin Breeches — Ick, Pit of Saron
- Feet: Dark Iron Chain Boots (worn by draenei) — Forgemaster Throngus, Grim Batol
or Soul Screaming Boots (worn by dwarf) — Devourer of Souls, Forge of Souls

- Weapon: Dragonshrine Scepter — Echo of Tyrande, End Time
- Off-hand: Divine Companion — inscription craftable

As for a cloak, I suggest something like the Shroud of the North Wind (which has a lot of 'same model as') or the Platinum Mesh Cloak.

While I realize shaman usually go with a shield, I went ahead with an off-hand anyway - since I'd most likely have paired it up with the Mazthoril Honor Shield I love so much.

Fel-Steel Warplate — Plate

I really like this set - not very paladin-like, but the green is so lively. It started out with the shoulders, which dropped for me randomly while I was doing SSC on my druid and wondered what to match them with. The Fel-Steel Warhelm was the quick go-to (not shown in picture to the left, though), and then I just matched up all the pieces of dark green plate armor I could find. I have no idea how the boots will look on non-draenei, though, so you might have to consider looking for alternatives if it's a misser. I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone wearing this one yet, since most of the pieces drop in level TBC raids.

- ShouldersPauldrons of the Wardancer — Hydross the Unstable, Serpenshrine Cavern
- ChestKrakken-Heart Breastplate — Lady Vashj, Serpentshrine Cavern
- HandsRoyal Gauntlets of Silvermoon — Kael'thas Sunstrider, Tempest Keep
- WaistIndestructible Plate Girdle — BS craft
- LegsGreaves of the Bloodwarder — High Astromancer Solarian, Tempest Keep
- FeetTyrant's Greaves

- ShirtGreen Workman's Shirt
- BackDelicate Green Poncho — Bring Me the Egg!

- WeaponLava Spine — Magmaw, Blackwing Descent

While I like the Fel-Steel Warhelm with this set a lot, I find it a bit too overwhelming for a female draenei, which is why it is hidden in the picture to the left, but you can see it equipped together with the Gurubashi Punisher in the picture below.

Alternatives shown below:
- Weapons: Amani Venom-Axe — Gleaming Quel'Serrar — Gurubashi Punisher
- Head: Ironbark Faceguard — Fel-Steel Warhelm

Northend Frozen Armor — Plate

I am a very big fan of the death knight starter set, even more so of this recolor baptized "Northern Frozen Plate" by wowhead. Unfortunately, this is the only one out of the four available colors that doesn't have any fitting boots. Fortunately, if your plate-wearer is a draenei you can pick out boots which simply won't show because of the hooves - hence I expect it is the same for tauren.

Most of the pieces drop in Naxxramas:

- Shoulders: Focusing Energy Epaulets or Frostblight Pauldrons
- Chest: Chivalric Chestguard
- Hands: Plated Gloves of Relief or Web Cocoon Grips
- Waist: Magroth's Meditative Cincture or Sjonnir's Girdle
- Legs: Leggings of Protective Auras or Blackened Legplates of Feugen
- Feet: Ancient Skeletal Boots or Boots of the Funeral March (heroic and non-heroic)

However, running ICC just for a pair of boots can be a drag, so getting Protectors of Life which are a BS craft can be a good idea; they will just show as a tiny strip of brown - not really fitting, not really mis-matching either (only for draenei/tauren).

Characters lacking hooves can equip the heroic version of the Boots of the Funeral March, which match the color scheme but are slippers and not very flattering for night elves with their big calves. Other suggestions I've seen were the Boots of the Treacherous Path (see image below), a quest reward from one of the HoT dungeon quests, or Tempered Titansteel Threads, which are a very bright icy blue. I've summed up some more suggestions, but sadly none are a complete match.

From left to right:
- Boots: 1. Boots of the Treacherous Path 2. Grinning Skull Boots 3. Boots of the Funeral March 4. Hardened Obsidium Boots
- Shield: Mazthoril Honor Shield
- Alternative shield and mace: Blackhorn's Mighty Bulwark and Dragonshrine Scepter (not in picture)

The boots with the grey hue only work well when accessorized with something of the same color, in my opinion. The current 378 HoT strength mace goes well with the dragon shield, but also with the normal version of Blackhorn's Mighty Bulwark. Mix and match however you like, and check out the page at WoW Roleplay Gear for more info on this set and same models if you feel like farming it.

Sweet-tempered Armor — Mail

I was browsing MogIt looking for mail gear to go with a shield for my shaman, when I noticed there were a couple of green pieces that were obviously a set visually. I thought I'd discovered a 'new' set, but later I found out it's already been documented and also exists in red and green.

It reminds me very much of the blood elf paladin and hunter starting gear, so I found it only fitting to have a blood elf pose with it. Every piece of gear is a quest reward from either Thousand Needles, Dustwallow Marsh, Eastern Plaguelands, Tanaris, Badlands and Felwood, and is obtainable by both Horde and Alliance.

All the pieces have two or more alternatives, except for the legs, so there is hope yet if you've done your fair share of quests already. Remember that it doesn't hurt to try ticketing a GM to restore at item you've vendored as you might get lucky.

Big thanks to wowhead user Valleria for collecting the info on where to find these items.

I've paired this set with  Hawkeye Bow since I like the simple look, something more elaborate would be the Vicious Gladiator's Longbow.
