Represent: The Czar of Sporeggar

Here's the link to the item comparison tool: click.

I hinted at this a couple of weeks ago when I mentioned my entry for the WoW Insider transmog contest, so here it is (it even made it into the runner-ups). Truth be told, I have been wearing this set for a very, very long time (read: since patch 4.3) and it came into existence rather unintentionally when I was leveling this silly spacegoat and decided to finish up the quests in Zangarmarsh. I started finding Glowcaps everywhere - a first for me, before the content became outdated, they were pretty hard to come by in such large quantities (for a then-casual player like me).

I had already gathered some pieces from the TBC Lightforge dungeon set which I'd safely stored in my bank, once transmogrification came out it didn't take me long to realize they would make a pretty good match to this tabard. Revisiting this set (adding the weapon and shield and writing about how I like to match a tabard to my sets) and seeing the Mogolympics opening ceremonies gave me an idea for a new category: Represent. Although so far, there aren't many entries, something I'm hoping to change soon.

Patch 5.0.4 and weapon enchants

Sad day for me, when I discovered Blizzard has apparently 'fixed' some weapons to display weapon enchants. I've only had very little time to test it out, but I've found out that not all weapons seem to be affected by this 'fix'. Flame Wrath is one of those for the time being (see below). I tried doing a quick search on the forums, but real life is kind of busy right now so I haven't really been able to find any blue posts on the matter within the time I've spent looking.

Kiril and the Staff of the Redeemer (as well as its lookalikes) sadly do display those enchants now. I don't have a screen shot of the Redeemer but I know this for a fact, since I just logged on to see my shadow priest guild mate with that staff and Power Torrent visible.

I just hate stealth changes!

I will start going over everything to see which items have been affected, although the update won't be up until next week. Edit: it seems it will still be a while before this is fully updated, as I'm - again - having some issues with my computer, forcing me to resort to my laptop, which produces terrible-quality screenshots.

Shattrath Divided: Scryers — Plate

WoW Insider is holding a transmogrification contest where the entrants are supposed to design an outfit around a single peace of gear. As I submitted my entry which is titled "Czar of the Sporeggar" (can you guess what the theme item is?) I was reminded of the Mogolympic opening ceremonies.

The subsequent Scryer scandal and barring wasn't enough to make me forgo my allegiance to them, however. So, think of this as a spiritual Scryer emissary (I realize it's ironic I've chosen a draenei to model).

Flavor text aside, the Exalted plate is one of my favorite plate sets. It's one of the rarest BOE sets out there so be sure to check out the page and comments on WoW RPGear for helpful tips and information.

Helmet of the Steadfast Champion
Warbringer's Spaulders
Exalted Harness
Scryers Tabard
Gauntlets of the Skullsplitter
Exalted Girdle
Exalted Legplates
Exalted Sabatons

With the tabard on top, only the sleeves are visible, so there are a couple of alternatives that you could settle for.

Chest alternatives:
Breastplate of Despair (the design on the sleeves is practically identical to the Exalted plate, just a lighter color hue)

Waist alternatives:
Hevna's Eye Socket
Girdle of the Mountains
Stormforged Belt

I don't recommend using more than one of these pieces at the same time lest it look cluttered, unless it's the Carapace of Imbibed Flame with Girdle of the Mountains, which seem to go together surprisingly well.

Weapon suggestions:

Skunkworks Sword Skunkworks Sword Sun-Forged Cleaver Sun-Forged Cleaver
Elementium-Edged Scalper Elementium-Edged Scalper Doom's Edge Doom's Edge
Scimitar of the Sirocco Scimitar of the Sirocco Coldstone Cutlass Coldstone Cutlass
